Halloween 2011

We had a lot of fun dressing up as Colonel Sanders and a Pregnant Nun for a Halloween Party with some friends from our ward.

Baby Waving!

Look at those biceps!

Where has the Time Gone?

We are now 24 weeks along! I can't believe how fast this pregnancy has gone by, however I hear it gets slower towards the end. We found out a few weeks ago that we are having a GIRL and we are so excited. We like the names Abigail, Emily, and Lilly. We are highly considering Lilly. We have an appointment tomorrow and should have some new fetal face shots to post. My brother and his wife just had their first it is fun to see pictures of their growing family.
About a month ago, Presley and I got called to Primary. We teach the Sunbeams and it is quite the challenge. I think it will be good for Presley though since he hasn't been around children much. I think he secretly enjoys our class, but would never admit it. We had our Primary Program last week and it was fun to see our small children participate.
Presley has just 3 more classes left to finish his RN. We are looking forward to that since I won't be working much when the baby gets here. Presley enjoys his job and always comes home with some crazy stories about the patients that he transports.

"The First Trimester"

Week 1: Mom and Dad went on Vacation to SeaWorld and Universal Studios in Orlando Florida. At this point you were just a twinkle in our eyes.
Week 2 & 3: Mom and Dad were praying and hoping that we would get pregnant. We couldn't wait to take a pregnancy test.
Week 4: Mom took a pregnancy test and found out she was pregnant!
Week 5: Mom and Dad called their parents to tell them we were having a baby. They were very excited.
Week 6: Mom and Dad went to the Doctor and had our first ultrasound. You looked like a bean. you didin't have any arms or legs at this point. Your nose, mouth and ears were starting to take shape. You were about 1/4 of an inch long.
Week 7: Mom and Dad went to Spokane Washington for a family reunion with your Grandpa Keate's family. Mom started having morning sickness towards the end of the vacation. you are now 1/2 an inch long and your arms and legs are starting to develop.
Week 8: Mom and Dad went back to the Doctor for another ultrasound so that we could hear your heartbeat. It was beating over 14o times per minute. It was really neat to listen to. We contacted Dad's brothers to let them know you were coming. You looked like a bean that had sprouted with paddles for arms and legs.
Week 9: Mom is still having morning sickness. Your heart has finished dividing into it's four chambers. Most of your organs are all there, but need to keep growing. Your eyes and eyelids are formed but your eyelids won't open for another 18 weeks. Sometimes Daddy will put his mouth on Mommy's belly and sing to your or say, "Hello Little Baby!"
Week 10: You've started moving around and can move your arms and legs. Because you are so small we still can't feel you move yet. Your findgers and toes have formed and your fingernails are starting to appear. Daddy is gegtting more excited and talks to you often.
Week 11: You are about 1 1/2 inches long now. Your hands will soon open and close into tiny fists. Some of your bones are hardening and little teeth are starting to form. Mom is still sick but only about every other day now. Mom is starting to get a baby bump.
Week 12: Mom and Dad went to the Doctor for another ultrasound to make sure everything was going well. You look big, but you still have a lot of growing to do. It was cute, during the ultrasound you had the hiccups and we jumping around a lot. We are looking forward to meeting you soon! In a few weeks we will find out if you are a boy or a girl!

Summer Vacation...

Presley and I had the opportunity to go to Orlando for our first official family vacation. We were able to go to Sea World, Universal Studios, and to the beach. While we were there we went indoor sky diving, attended a comedy dinner, and went to Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum. We loved every minute of it, except when we got really fried at the beach. I looked like a lobster. We had been reapplying sunscreen throughout the day, but Presley told me later that the sunscreen was from his mission and was at least 7 or 8 years old. Lesson Learned: Sunscreen does expire!

We are so blessed!

Presley and I both feel so blessed at this time in our lives and it is definitely a mile marker we won't soon forget. We both are blessed to be employed and Presley has been able to find a program where he can continue his education and become an RN. I am so proud of him for working full time and working towards his education. I recently had a miscarriage and have come to know that this too has been a blessing. I'm thankful for the tender mercies of the Lord. As I was reading in 3rd Nephi where the Savior comes to visit the Nephites I am reminded how much the Lord loves ME! In ch. 19, verse 30 he commands his disciples to pray and it says, "he did smile down upon them." I know the Savior is smiling down on us as we try to do our best and work through life's challenges.

I met Presley while I was serving a mission in the Arkansas Little Rock mission in 2006. My companion and I had gone to a member's house for supper and he was dating their daughter. I completed my mission and returned home to Utah in January 2007. Presley had broken up with his girlfriend since then, and he and I wrote on Facebook for 16 months and continued to keep in contact. I came back to visit the mission in July 2008 and met up with Presley. He flew out to Utah 3 weeks later and we were engaged July 28, 2008. Presley and I were married December 20, 2008 in the Mt. Timpanogos Utah Temple. We then moved to Memphis TN to be close to his family and so that Presley could work as an EMT and complete his Paramedic Program. We lived in a one bedroom apartment near the University of Memphis. In August 2010 we moved to another apartment complex in a slightly better part of town and now have a two bedroom apartment. We have lived in Memphis now for over two years while Presley has furthered his education and is now completing his Paramedic to RN program. He plans to obtain his bachelors in Nursing and we would eventually like to head West, or anywhere Presley can find employment.
